How it works: Radio OS

What it is

Radio OS is the heart of RadioInternet.ca: the platform created for people who want their own internet radio. OS means operating system. Basically, it is all the tools and functions that make your station work, brought together in one place, with one simple way to use them.

The basic idea of Radio OS is “from one address to another”. You work with links: a song link, a video link, a platform link. Instead of piling up files everywhere, you build your programming with references. It is lighter, faster, and it lets you use what already exists on the web.

How to use it

First step: click on “Radio OS” in the site menu to see the platform’s presentation page.

Second step: read how the platform is designed: music, programming, broadcasting, everything starts from the same principle, that of links.

Third step: if you have not already, create your free account. It is in your member space that the ecosystem comes to life for you.

Fourth step: to understand how it all works before you dive in, go through the Platform page, which presents the overview, and the Training page, which guides you step by step.

Good to know

Radio OS is for creators: both for someone starting from zero and for someone who already has a station and is looking for tools suited to their way of working. The approach is always the same: real functions, explained simply, and everything is free, no card required, so you have all the time you need to see if it meets your needs.

If the link principle seems new to you, do not worry: the site’s pages are written to be understood by everyone, not just technicians. And the “How it works” guide series you are listening to right now exists precisely to explain each part to you, one at a time, in simple words.
